Eliyahu Shahar's family were perturbed, but not in any way surprised by the
images displayed to the world this week of Samir Kuntar engaging in weapons
training.

Shahar was killed by a terror cell led by Kuntar into the northern coastal
town of Nahariya in 1979. It was during that raid that Kuntar also murdered
Danny Haran and his four-year-old daughter Einat.

An appeal filed by the Shahar family to prevent Kuntar's release was
rejected by the High Court of Justice. He was repatriated to Lebanon along
with several other terrorists and the bodies of hundreds of Lebanese
fighters in return for the remains of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev.

"The Kuntar deal was despicable, we said from the onset that it's something
we would grow to regret," Yoram Shahar on Tuesday after watching the video
of Kuntar training with live gunfire and shells.

"What we saw in this movie is just the tip of the iceberg. Kuntar will carry
out a major attack against Israel, which has placed its fate squarely in the
hands of murderers," said an irate Shahar.

"I opposed Kuntar's release not because I was against having the captives
returned. I was opposed to watching the government throw sand in the eyes of
the public to prevent them from seeing the full picture, who it was that
they were setting free.

"This is a man who tried to carry out a terror attack against Israel at the
age of 14, and was arrested by the Jordanians. It must be understood - once
a terrorist, always a terrorist."

Shahar asserts Kuntar was released out of political considerations: "It
pains me that Ehud Olmert wanted to create a media spin, and so let him go.

"If people in Israel had the full picture, everyone would have been against
his release. You have to understand, this person sat in jail for 30 years
and spent that time priming himself for a major attack. He now knows exactly
where our weaknesses are," said Shahar.

Eliyahu's second brother, Haim, says the video proves the family was right
to appeal the deal. "I want the High Court of Justice, which twice rejected
our case, to sit down and watch these images.As someone who has served this
country, and who continues to volunteer even today, I am very upset. This is
how they (the court) pay us back."

Shahar stressed that his family was not out to avenge his brother's death,
only to prevent future attacks. "I wish I could go to Lebanon on my own,"
says Haim, "I would go destroy him. This is not a vendetta. My brother will
not rise from his grave if Kuntar dies.

Haim said that his family members paid a heavy personal price following
Eliyahu's death. "My mother died from the grief. Yet after everything we
endured, Kuntar was let go and now he's back to his old habits. This ruined
us, and he's just continued with his life."

Yoram said he laments the feeling of national helplessness: "We are the
strongest nation in the world. I ask Olmert - why don't we get (Hamas
leader) Ismail Haniyeh and trade him for (kidnapped soldier) Gilad Shalit,
just like they snatched Mustafa Dirani from his bed. That's the kind of
country I want to live in," he said.

"We just give and give, and the world's terrorists see this and understand
that hey, they really should carry out more kidnappings. We need to
understand that we are fighting for our existence, and I feel sorry for the
next family in line," added Shahar.

Middle East Scholar: Israel Or The U.S. Must Act Now To Prevent A Nuclear Iran

Mideast scholar Paul Eidelberg is warning America about a dangerous crisis that looms ahead, telling Americans that Iran is about to go nuclear and that time is running out for decisive action to be taken against the outlaw nation as it races to build a nuclear weapon.

Eidelberg, a graduate of the University of Chicago, served as an officer in the United States Air Force and immigrated to Israel in 1976 shortly after authoring a trilogy on America's Founding Fathers, "The Philosophy of The American Constitution," "On the Silence of the Declaration of Independence," and "A Discourse on Statesmanship." He is also the author of various books on the Arab-Israel conflict and has a weekly talk show on Israeli National Radio.

"Recent tensions between the US and Russia over the Georgian invasion have worked to Iran's advantage," Eidelberg noted. "Russia, along with Germany and China have invested too much into Iran to cooperate with the the U.S. and offer up much cooperation on effective economic sanctions or containment. Iran is also continuing to leverage control over the Straits of Hormuz where 40 percent of the world's crude oil supply travels through daily. With the elections in the U.S. and political turmoil in Israel it may not be a convenient time to take action, but leadership is not about convenience - it's about seeing the problem and taking action."

The 80-year old Eidelberg has learned a new skill--blogging--and is using his new blog at PoliticalMavens.com to warn the West of the actions that he believes must be taken to avoid catastrophe--and not only in the Middle East. "A nuclear-armed Iran with its 800-mile range Shahab-3 missiles would cow pacifist Europe on whose economy America's own economy largely depends," he says. "Almost any person who takes 9/11 seriously and has heard about Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's boast of a world without America and Israel should be able to see that a nuclear-armed Iran would be a mortal threat to Western civilization."

Will Obama's "CHANGE" be good for Jews?

Jews should know that Obama, no matter how engaging his smile, how charming he is when he dons a kippah and places a not-so-secret note into a crack of the Kotel, is not your friend nor a supporter of Israel.

Obama wants POWER, that is all. Born of a failed hippie mother, who never could achieve her dream of changing America to suit her own image (interracial marriage, open-arms to Islam) and an African Moslem father--a philanderer, an alcoholic, and also a failed human being-- he always wanted to be dominant in the White Society he saw as ruling the United States.

Don't you know yet that this Barack Obama will do and say anything to get at that POWER? He will tell Jews that Jerusalem will not be divided, he will tell Arabs that Jerusalem will not be divided (but be all Arab "Palestinian").

If you are a Jew and a Socialist/Marxist/Communist, you will love Obama. If you are a Jew who wants to preserve what you have earned and allow it to grow via prudent investments, you should not love this creature who has learned to be quite a chameleon--when he is with blacks, he is black, when with white, he is white. And why not? He can change his skin at will, can't he, being both black and white.

But a Judeophile he's not. Look at his associations: Jeremiah Wright--antisemitic, Louis Farrakhan (Nation of Islam--very antisemitic), Sharpton (antisemite). The voter base that catapulted him into national politics consisted of the inhabitants of the black communities in Chicago.

Ever since African-Americans gained their civil rights, owing a lot to white Jews, some of who sacrificed their lives to achieve that goal, the black multitude has not been friendly towards Jews. As a matter of fact, African-Americans, as a group, not as individuals, have been hostile to Jews, as goaded on by the "Black Muslims" (Nation of Islam), the Black Panthers," and even the Rev. Jesse Jackson (of Hymietown fame).

Black Americans, incited by the forces touched on above, started to blame Jews for their ancestors' slave status. Many black Americans tried to escape that stigma by converting to Islam--not realizing that, besides African blacks, Arab Mohammedans were the prime slave traders (and still are, viz Sudan).

With a Jew-hating base, abetted by Communist Marxists of all colors and stripes, Obama will not be the "Friend" that American Jews so fervently hope for.

Change may not be good for Jews. It never was nor is.

As it becomes more widely-known that American Jews are skeptical of the [peace] process, three consequences are likely to follow. First, American Jews opposed to it will feel freer to express their opposition, and it will become ever-harder to dismiss them as "hard-liners," "right-wing" ideologues, or apologists for the Orthodox. Second, the foreign policy establishment will find it more difficult to claim that it has the support of American Jews, and will have to make more of an effort to present their case. Third, especially with a presidential campaign . . . under way, American pressure on Israel should ease off.

These are positive developments for anyone interested in a real peace in the Middle East, for they again focus attention where it always should have been: how ready are the ["Palestinians"] and other Arabs to live in peace with Israel?

Walking the Razor's Edge - A Requirement for Jews

There are too many black people who hate Jews. Jews must not hate black people back.

Why not return hate for hate?

Hate consumes the Hater. That goes for white-hot hatred. Ice-cold hate does not consume, but that is also uncalled for as concerns Jews' towards black people.

Black people are not a monolith (neither are Jews as we well know from the Obamaites amongst them).

More important, however, why Jews must not hate black people is because it makes them tumble into the foul nest of the white supremacists . . .

. . . who hate Jews as much as they hate black people. They are Equal Opportunity Haters.

Trying to join them will not only bring rebuffs but torrents of hatred towards Jews of all political persuasions from these white nazis.

Jews are not only facing hatred from the white nazis but also from the multi-colored, multi-ethnic Islamic nazis.

Jews must not join with either. . .

. . . whether Jews shed bitter tears for the so-called "Palestinians" (read Arabs) as many in Israel as well as in the US do . . . or whether they (some Jews) believe that the Obama Leftitst are connected to the Islamic nazis and have as much hatred for Jews (although the Obama inner circle keeps this well hidden) as do the white nazis.

Jews must tread the razor's edge that keeps them from falling into either camp: Islamic Jew-haters or white nazi Jew-haters.

I believe this is an important policy difference, one which will drive more Jews to vote for McCain.
